I have started a new blog.
Click on the picture above to go to my new blog.
It is where I will be sharing designs that I have made in the Electric Quilt.
For anyone that doesn't know this software , it is quilting software for designing quilts and alot more.
Head on over there , I have something special I have designed for christmas. A free table runner pattern.
I will leave this blog up for a while but I feel I have exhausted all the links and I am not finding anything new on the freebie front. If I do I will be sure to post about it.
I wish you all a safe, merry christmas 2008 and a very happy new year for 2009.
To remove graphite pencil marks
Mix in a small bottle and shake well: 3 oz rubbing alcohol 2 tblsp water 3 drops of Ivory dish soap Place old, folded towels under the quilt to absorb the graphite and the solution. Gently apply the solution with an old soft toothbrush or cotton ball. Does not require rinsing and dries quickly. Remaining solution can be kept in a tightly capped bottle. It will not yellow or go bad. Works on other stains also. This recipe is from "Patti"on the Canadian Quilters Online list.

I came across this site this morning that has gorgeous pattern on it.
Just click around and most of the patterns are for free.
My nana turns 92 on Wednesday the 7th May. She has been a wonderful influence on my life, teaching me knitting, sewing, cutting and pasting when I was little, crocheting and cooking. The thing I remember the most about Nan , was when I was growing up and mum had to work on the school holidays that she never once whinged about taking her holidays from work herself to look after us . We could make mud pies with her best cake pans and spit watermelon seeds to our hearts content, but once 4.00pm came around it was clean up time and no messing about. She never raised a hand to us, but would on occassion raise her voice. I don't blame her for that. Tea was always on the table at 5.30pm and even when we didn't eat our dinner you would still get desert.
She was there at every birthday, every occassion and cried with us in the bad times, but she is our rock.
Her mind is not as great as it was but she still has spunk and a rebellious side. She is full of spirit.
She was the number 6 out of 7 children born to Irish parents.
She had 3 Children, 7 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren. Not bad hey.
I just love her and always will..
Happy Birthday Nan, Big Hugs and Kisses x0x0x0x0x0x0x0x0
Here is a link to a free booklet creator program.
Wonderful for creating stories for your little ones or maybe for craft in general. Make a pattern book????
I found a link today for free scroll saw animal jigsaw patterns.
Just about any animal you can think of . If you have a handyman in the home or you have a scrollsaw yourself (I do and they are very easy to work with) why don't you make a couple of these for your children. Puzzles keep them entertained for hours. Or maybe if you are retired you could make a couple and donate them to your local pre-schools or kindergartern.

I have started looking for quilts and anything related to baby themes in crafting . I will keep adding things here as I find them and I will also add a handy link on the sidebar , so that you can easily find this posting.

Finger oven mitts make a lot of sense , less bulky to work with.
Here is the link to this pattern
And here yet another pattern for full size mitt or finger mitt. It is pdf
Also take a look at these micro mitts. A cord has been threaded through to keep both together. A great idea, so as not to lose them and great for hanging as well, ready to use whenever...
